DataTurbine at ISSNIP Conference and CREON Meeting

Title:
DataTurbine at ISSNIP Conference and CREON Meeting
Date:
10/01/2010

On 7-11 Dec 2009, Tony Fountain, Sameer Tilak, and Peter Shin represented the Open Source Data Turbine Initiative at the
Fifth International Conference on Intelligent Sensors, Sensor Networks, and Information Processing (ISSNIP) in Melbourne
Australia. Tony made a presentation on the paper "Digital Moorea Cyberinfrastructure for Coral Reef Monitoring". The paper
is available on the dataturbine web site (http://www.dataturbine.org/publications/digital-moorea-cyberinfrastructu...). We also participated in the workshop on coral reef monitoring organized by the Coral Reef Environmental Observatory Network (www.coralreefeon.org/). Both the Great Barrier Reef Ocean Observing System (GBROOS) and the Moorea LTER Network sites have production DataTurbine servers managing data streams from their observatories. New activities were scheduled to move these collaborations forward, including a plan to mirror these data streams to a DataTurbine server at NOAA. The next scheduled meeting of CREON will be on 5 March at UCSD in San Diego.
